"Moving into landscape painting from graphic art wasn't difficult. Graphic art is about lines and tones; photography is of the moment and landscape painting is the  process of  capturing nature. In each of these things the success of a work is to be found in balance."

- Terence Teo

In the mid-1980s, Terence Teo wanted to discover something new in art. As a Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts-trained graphic artist, he had the opportunity to put forth his artistic perceptions that was acquired during his training in graphic art and photography. Teo was also able to lend his artistic vision, emotional range, skills and techniques to his landscape painting. The unique mixture of tradition and modernity using Chinese ink attracted him and have guided him through landscape painting since the 1980s.
